MeiSheng Call Do-Not-Call Policy

About this policy
MEISHENG TECHNOLOGY (a California corporation, California Secretary of State entity no. 6276507) makes MeiSheng Call, an iPhone app that helps people who speak Chinese make phone calls in English. When one of our users makes a call, an AI voice speaks English for them.
This is our written policy for keeping a do-not-call list. It covers:
every call placed through MeiSheng Call, by any of our users; and
our company line, +1 520-365-0888, which anyone can call to ask us to stop calling.
We give this policy to anyone who asks for it (this page is the policy). We do not make telemarketing calls, and our Terms of Use forbid using MeiSheng Call for sales or marketing calls.
How to recognize a call from MeiSheng Call
Calls usually come from +1 520-666-3008 and may show the name "MeiSheng Tech". If you call that number back, you will hear our automated greeting: you can press 9 to stop future calls, or leave a message. It does not reach the user who called you. You can also reach us at +1 520-365-0888.
When a person answers, the first thing they hear from us is our opening message (it plays the first time the user speaks, about 15 seconds): "This is MeiSheng Technology's AI interpreter. Press 9, or call 888-365-0754, to stop our calls. This call is recorded and transmitted to a service provider for transcription. Hang up if you object." Our name is followed right away by the way to stop future calls.
If the call is transferred and a new person comes on the line, the message plays again for that person.
How to ask us to stop calling
Any one of these works:
During a call: press 9 when you hear "Press 9". The call ends right away, and your number goes on our do-not-call list.
Call our toll-free do-not-call line, 1-888-365-0754: automated, 24 hours a day, not recorded. As soon as the call connects, the number you are calling from is added to the list; no key press is needed. To add a different number, press 2, enter the 10-digit number, and press 1 to confirm after it is read back. If your caller ID is hidden, you will be asked to enter the number.
Call our company line: call +1 520-365-0888 from the number you want on the list, and press 9 during the greeting. The number is added automatically.
Leave a message: call +1 520-365-0888 and leave a message that says which phone number to add. Use this if your caller ID is hidden, or if you want to add a different number.
Email: write to support@meishengcall.com with the phone number. A subject line such as "Do not call" helps.

If you ask us in any other reasonable way, we will honor that too. Our company line answers automatically at all hours, including regular business hours.
How fast we act
Pressing 9 during a call, confirming on our toll-free do-not-call line, or pressing 9 on our company line: the number is added automatically, right away. If our system is briefly unavailable, it keeps trying until the number is added.
Messages, emails and letters: we add the number within 10 business days after we receive your request.
In every case, your request takes effect within 10 business days.
What happens after you ask
One request covers that phone number for every MeiSheng Call user, not only the user who called you.
Our system checks the list every time a user dials. A number on the list cannot be called through MeiSheng Call.
We honor each request for 5 years from the day you make it. After 5 years, the number is removed from the list automatically. You can make a new request at any time.
What we keep
The list holds only the phone number, how it was added (pressing 9 on a call, our toll-free do-not-call line, our company line, email, a message or a letter), the date and time it was added, and, if you pressed 9 on a phone call, Twilio's ID for that call. It contains no recordings and no words from any call.
When a MeiSheng Call user deletes their account, the list does not change.
We use the list only to block calls and to show that we honored requests. We do not sell it or give it to anyone else.
Messages on our company line
The greeting tells you that messages are recorded and transcribed.
Our phone provider, Twilio, records and transcribes the message, and we email the transcript to our support inbox. The recording and transcript are deleted from Twilio after 30 days. The emailed transcript is deleted from our support inbox after 1 year.

Our staff
Everyone at MEISHENG TECHNOLOGY who handles our company line, our support email or our calling system knows this policy and is trained to add numbers to the do-not-call list.
Other limits that protect the people we call
We do not place calls with our AI voice to mobile phones, toll-free numbers or emergency lines. Toll-free numbers can be called only in Institution Interpreter Mode, which plays no AI voice at all (see our Privacy Policy). During testing, a few of our company's internal test accounts are not limited by the mobile part of this rule; numbers on our do-not-call list and emergency lines are still blocked.
Each landline number can get at most 3 calls with our AI voice in any 30 days, from all MeiSheng Call users together.
From the moment a call is answered until our opening message has finished, we listen for a voicemail beep and hang up automatically as soon as we hear one, so we do not leave voicemail messages. If a voicemail greeting has no beep and our opening message is recorded, that message includes our toll-free do-not-call line, 1-888-365-0754, which you can call to stop our calls.
